Entrenchment tool, painted and gritted in homage to Max Brooks' Lobotomizer (aka Lobo) idea. Lemme tell ya, when you're carrying this thing around in costume you feel like you really could hack down the undead. It actually has little chunks clinging to it too!
What was that cadence my drill sgt adored?
"I love pools of blood, hack 'em in the neck with your etool, baby!"
Yeah, I carried an E-tool for three years in the army. I wished I still had my military issue folding entrenching tool for this. We weren't really trained to use them specifically as a weapon, but were encouraged to use them as one if need be. Them buggers are sharp!
We did however have some great cadences about using them in combat. ^_^
When I read "World War Z" I saw this as something a bit longer and fantastical (but obviously utilitarian). However, I do like how you went with something familiar that more than likely would ACTUALLY be used...assuming you can use the word "actually" when referring to a zombie apocalypse.
What, you don't have a battle plan for the inevitable zombie hordes?? lol
It's actually just a converted folding shovel from the local camping store with a little custom work. Sturdy and proper heavy, best feeling cosplay prop I've had. If it had a metal handle instead of wood, I'd definitely trust it to scramble zed noggin meat. Or fend off an intruder, for that matter.
